Porsche is preparing a remarkable new option for its upcoming electric Cayenne — a wireless charging station that allows the SUV to recharge without plugging in a cable. According to the brand’s press office, sales of this system in Europe are set to begin next year.

The charger itself is designed as a compact panel, installed under the car floor near the front wheels, where the Cayenne’s inductive receiver is located. Official Porsche photos show how the driver can precisely position the vehicle above the panel with the help of the 360-degree camera system.

Once correctly aligned, the Cayenne automatically lowers its ride height to ensure a gap of just 10–15 cm between the panel and the receiver. The wireless charging station delivers a power output of 11 kW.

Pricing details will be announced closer to the market launch. The all-electric Cayenne, built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture co-developed with Audi, is expected to debut before the end of this year.

Why It Matters
