GO TO-U is continually enhancing its solutions to make the charging experience more comfortable, reliable, and predictable. We have now added a new feature to our operating system and app – technical reservation.

What is Technical Reservation?
Technical reservation is a booking made by Charge Point Operators of charging stations for periods when the charging station is temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance or other technical reasons. During this time, the operator can set up a technical reservation, and the station will be marked as unavailable for EV drivers. Users will be notified in the GO TO-U app about the station's unavailability.
How Does Technical Reservation Work?
In the GO TO-U Back Office system, the station owner sets up a technical reservation for the required period (for example, from 9:00 to 10:00). It activates automatically at the specified time and deactivates automatically once the period ends.
Real-time adjustments are also possible, allowing the owner to modify the reservation period as needed. If maintenance is completed earlier than expected, the operator can shorten the reservation time.

In the GO TO-U app, technical reservations appear in the same window as regular reservations but have distinct markings for easy identification. Stations with technical reservations are indicated on the app map in orange (if all connectors at the location are under technical reservation).
EV drivers will also see an orange indicator in the connector list, showing that charging is not available at that time. Since the technical reservation has a clearly defined start and end time, users can easily book the charging station for a time after the reservation period.

"We are excited to introduce the technical reservation feature, designed to enhance reliability and clarity. This new feature allows operators to better optimize the operation of charging stations and increase customer loyalty by notifying them when a station is temporarily unavailable. EV drivers can plan their time and routes more efficiently, taking into account the potential unavailability of a charging station," says Lena Artemenko, Co-Founder and CPO of GO TO-U.
GO TO-U is dedicated to ensuring seamless EV charging experience!
We believe this new feature will be very useful and convenient for both CPOs and EV drivers. Currently, GO TO-U provides access to 450,000 stations in 67 countries worldwide. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and events.
